Solution: POS scanner not scanning products unless printer is disabled/removed

Updated over a month ago

If you are noticing that your POS scanner is not scanning products properly, or not scanning products at all, please check if your POS printer is connected via Bluetooth.

When a printer is connected via Bluetooth, it will not read the scanner input if the scanner is connected to the printer. This is totally by design as Microsoft Windows uses a "virtual port" for its Bluetooth connections, and these virtual ports act differently from physical hardware ports.

If your POS printer does have Bluetooth functionality, please disable Bluetooth pairing, and connect your POS printer to either USB or LAN. This will allow your POS scanner to scan properly.
