Promo codes are discount codes made available to customers and examples of promo codes could be codes distributed in-store, or via e-blast communication. To create a promo code, click on the PROMOTIONS tab in the left sidebar under PRODUCTS and then select the PROMO CODES tab shown at the top of the screen. This will display any promo codes that you have currently created by the promo code keyword, what the code applies to, the value of the promo code, applicable user type, and lastly, the start and end date for the promo code.
To create a new promo code, tap on the + button and a popup window will appear, requiring you to input the following information for the new promo code that you wish to create:
Promo Code Name is the promo code keyword that customers will use.
Locations is the location(s) that the promo code will be applicable to.
Description of Promo Code is used internally, this helps your staff understand the purpose of the promo code.
Applied To allows you to specify if the promo code applies to a specific product, the customer’s entire cart, delivery discount or multiple product quantities added to the purchase.
Value allows you to specify whether the promo code provides a percentage or dollar value discount.
User Type allows you to specify whether the promo code applies to registered users, non-registered guests, or both.
Participating Items allows you to define which items the promo code is applicable to. For example, if you wish to limit your promo code to only be applicable to Accessories only, you can specify that here.
Min. Purchase is the minimum purchase amount required in order for the promo code to be accepted. For example, if a customer is required to make a minimum purchase of $25 in order for the promo code to be recognized, you would input the value $25 in this field.
Max Discount is the maximum allowable discount rate that you would like to apply to the promo code. For example, if you create a promo code with a percentage value and would like to limit that code to purchase orders that are $500 or less, you can input that value in this field.
Limit Per User defines how many times a customer can use that promo code.
Max Use defines the number of times the promo code can be used. For example, if you are running a special long weekend promotion and would like to restrict the promo code to a specific number of uses, you can set that numeric value in this field.
Start and End Date allows you to set a specific duration for the promo code to be active.
Once you have inputted all the necessary information to create your new promo code, click on SAVE and your new code will appear on your promo code list.
