How do I create a Pre-Set Discount for my Tendy store?

Updated over a year ago

Pre-set discounts are discounts that staff members can apply to orders. For example, you can create an Employee discount that your Budtenders can use when making personal purchases through your store. To create a pre-set discount, click on the PROMOTIONS tab in the left sidebar under PRODUCTS and then select the PRE-SET DISCOUNT tab shown at the top of the screen. This will display any discounts that you have currently created, what the discount applies to, the value of the discount, the applicable user type, and lastly, the start and end date for the discount.

To create a new discount, tap on the + button and a popup window will appear, requiring you to input the following information for the new discount that you wish to create:

  • Discount Name is the discount that your budtenders can select.

  • Locations is the location(s) that the promo code will be applicable to.

  • Description of Discount Code is used internally, this helps your staff understand the purpose of the discount code.

  • Applied To allows you to specify if the discount code applies to a specific product, the customer’s entire cart, delivery discount or multiple product quantities added to the purchase.

  • Value allows you to specify whether the discount code provides a percentage or dollar value discount.

  • User Type allows you to specify whether the discount code applies to registered users, non-registered guests, or both.

  • Participating Items allows you to define which items the discount code is applicable to. For example, if you wish to limit your discount code to only be applicable to Pre-Rolls only, you can specify that here.

  • Min. Purchase is the minimum purchase amount required in order for the discount code to be accepted. For example, if a customer is required to make a minimum purchase of $25 in order for the promo code to be recognized, you would input the value $25 in this field.

  • Max Discount is the maximum allowable discount rate that you would like to apply to the discount code. For example, if you create a discount code with a percentage value and would like to limit that code to purchase orders that are $100 or less, you can input that value in this field.

  • Limit Per User defines how many times a customer can use the discount code.

  • Max Use defines the number of times the promo code can be used. For example, if you are running a special long weekend promotion and would like to restrict the promo code to a specific number of uses, you can set that numeric value in this field.

  • Start and End Date allows you to set a specific duration for the promo code to be active.

  • Status allows you to enable or disable the discount code.

Once you have inputted all the necessary information to create your new discount code, click on SAVE and your new code will appear on your pre-set discount list.
